Telehealth? Does it actually work?

We understand that many people might feel a bit nervous about video counselling session, but the wonderful news is that Telehealth has been proven to be just as effective as meeting in person. Your psychologist can use the same therapeutic techniques and approached as they would in a traditional face-to-face session, and the best part is that you can skip the travel and the hassle of fitting an appointment into your busy life.

With our online therapy session, you can easily connect with your psychologist through a video link or phone call, making it simpler than ever to access the support you need from the comfort of your home, no matter where you are in Australia.

How does Telehealth work?

To get started, simply contact the Flourishing Mind Collective to schedule your Telehealth appointment. A few days before your session, you will receive an email with a personalised, secure link that gives you access to a virtual session room, which can be used on any device that has a camera and microphone. Click the link at the time and date of your appointment to start the Telehealth session.

To join a session, you’ll need a smartphone, tablet or computer with a stable internet connection, camera and microphone. Whilst using headphones is optional, it can improve audio quality.

For a comfortable experience, we recommend finding a private space where you can speak openly without interruptions. If home doesn’t feel private enough, sitting in your car can work too! Please make sure you device is charged prior to your appointment.

Is Telehealth suitable for everyone?

At the Flourishing Mind Collective, we want to ensure that everyone receives the best possible care and our Telehealth services are designed to prioritize safety and clinical appropriateness, and may therefore not be suitable to every client*.
